Description of the medicine: Chinoxydin (Chinoxydinum)

Chinoxydinum (Chinoxydinum). 1, 4-Di-N-oxide 2, 3-bis (acetoxymethyl) quinoxaline.

Greenish-yellow crystalline powder odorless. Very little soluble in water and alcohol.

Hinoksidin is a broad-spectrum antimicrobial, effective against vulgar protein, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella rod (Friedlander), intestinal and dysentery bacillus, Salmonella, Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, and gangrene pathogens. It acts on strains resistant to other chemotherapeutic drugs.

It is used to treat severe forms of purulent-inflammatory processes (pyelitis, pyelocystitis, cholecystitis, cholangitis, lung abscess, pleural empyema, intestinal dysbiosis, severe septic conditions), when the infection is caused by a gram-negative flora (in particular, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, proteus), and strains Bacteria resistant to antibiotics, or when treatment with antibiotics and other chemotherapeutic drugs is not effective.

Assign the drug only to adults. Give 0.25 g per reception 3 times a day after meals. The duration of the course of treatment is 7 to 14 days.

With good tolerability and the presence of indications, appoint 0.25 g 4 times a day. The maximum daily dose is 1 g. If necessary, the course of treatment is repeated with a break of 1 - 1, 5 - 2 months.

Treatment is carried out in a hospital environment under close medical supervision.

When applying quinoxidine, side effects can occur: dyspeptic disorders (nausea, vomiting), dizziness, headache, allergic rash, convulsive muscle contractions, more often gastrocnemius.

When adverse reactions (as well as to prevent them in people with hypersensitivity) are recommended, antihistamines, calcium preparations. To prevent dyspepsia, you can take inside caffeine or 20 - 30 ml of 0.25% solution of novocaine. If side effects do not go away, reduce the dose or stop taking the drug.

With prolonged treatment with quinoxidine, candidiasis may occur, which requires the timely administration of antifungal antibiotics (nystatin or levorin).

Contraindications: individual intolerance.
