Description medications: Furazolin (Furazolinum)

Furazolin (Furazolinum) 5- (4-morpholinylmethyl) -3- (5-amino-nitrofurfuriliden) -oksazolidon-2.

Synonyms: Altafur, Furaltadone, Furaltadonum, Furmethonol , Nitrofurmethonum, Viofural and others.

Crystalline powder greenish-yellow color. Very slightly soluble in water and alcohol.

Apply with infections caused by Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria: staphylococci, streptococci, pneumococci (with wound infections, erysipelas, pneumonia, pleural empyema, meningitis, osteomyelitis, septicemia, and others.), In mixed infections caused by staphylococci, together with streptococci or pneumococci; when staphylococcal enteritis in children, as well as kidney and urinary tract infections.

Assign an adult on the inside of 0.1 g 3 - 4 times a day in 15 - 20 minutes after a meal, for children up to 1 year - 0.01 - 0.015 g per reception, 1 year to 2 years - 0.02 g 2 - 5 years - 0.03 - 0.04 g, 5 - 15 - 0.05 g reception 3 - 4 times daily.

Long use the drug (more than 2 weeks without interruption) is not recommended.

Furazolin generally well tolerated. In some cases, there may be nausea, vomiting, allergic dermatitis.

Contraindications: heavy heart disease, liver and kidney damage, increased sensitivity to nitrofuranam.
