Methisazonum (Methisazonum).

Thiosemicarbazone N-methylisitol.

Synonyms: Kemoviran, Marboran, Metisazon, Metisazonum, Viruzona.

Orange-yellow fluffy fine crystalline powder odorless. Almost nerastvorim in water, alcohol.

The drug suppresses the reproduction of viruses of the main group: it possesses preventive activity against variola virus and facilitates the course of postvaccinal complications, delays the spread of the skin process, promotes faster drying of the efflorescences.

There are data on the efficacy of metisazone in the treatment of recurrent genital herpes and herpes zoster.

Assign inside (in tablets) daily 1 - 1, 5 hours after eating 2 times a day for 4 to 6 days. Single dose for adults 0.6 g (1, 2 g per day). Children under 14 years - at a rate of 0.01 g / kg for admission 2 times a day.

The drug can also be taken in the form of 10% suspension: adults - 1 tablespoon, children - 1/4 - 1/3 teaspoon 2 times a day (morning and evening).

At reception of a preparation in separate cases nausea, vomiting, giddiness (especially at reception on an empty stomach) can be observed; With expressed side effects, the dose is halved.

Contraindications: severe liver and kidney damage, diseases of the gastrointestinal tract (peptic ulcer, chronic gastritis in the acute stage, etc.). It is forbidden to take alcoholic beverages during treatment.
