Description of the medicine: Fotrin (Photrinum)

Photrinum. 2, 2, 4, 4, 6-Pentaethylenimino-6-morpholinocyclotriphosphazatriene.

Synonym: Fotretamine.

White crystalline powder. Easily soluble in water and alcohol.

Has antitumor (anti-leukemia) activity. Oppresses granulocytopoiesis and, to a lesser extent, erythro- and thrombocytopoiesis.

Applied with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (with a level of leukocytes above 100 x 10 9 / L), with erythremia, as well as with mushroom mycosis, primary skin reticulosis, reticulosarcomatosis, Kaposi angioretikuleze, in ovarian cancer.

Enter fotrin intravenously, intramuscularly or in the cavity (intraperitoneally).

Before administration, the contents of the ampoule (10 or 20 mg of dry matter) are dissolved in isotonic sodium chloride solution (5 or 10 ml respectively).

In chronic lymphocytic leukemia, fotrin is administered every other day, starting with a single dose of 5 mg. In the future, with good tolerability, increase the single dose to 10-15 mg. The total dose varies widely, depending on the severity of the disease and the effectiveness of therapy.

With erythremia, administer 40 mg every other day. The rate of 280 - 360 mg. In case of relapse, the course of treatment is repeated.

With gemodermii enter 2 - 3 times a week for 10 - 15 mg per day. With good tolerability, the dose is increased to 20-25 mg. The course of treatment 150 - 250 mg.

In ovarian cancer, fotrin is administered intravenously or intramuscularly (10-15 mg every other day) or intravenously (intramuscularly) with simultaneous administration to the abdominal cavity at a dose of 20-40 mg once. The course dose is up to 300 mg.

When fotrin is used, regular monitoring of the blood picture is necessary both during the treatment and for 2 weeks after its termination. Possible common side effects and contraindications are the same as with the use of other drugs of this group.

Form release: in lyophilized form in ampoules of 10 or 20 mg (Photrinum 0.01 and 0.02 pro injectionibus) - white or white with a slightly yellowish tinge porous mass or powder - in a package of 10 ampoules.
