TRIMETAZIDINE (Trimetazidine).

1- (2,3,4-Trimethoxybenzyl) piperazine.

It is available as a dihydrochloride.

Synonyms: Preductal, Cartoma, Hiwell, Lubomail, Preductal, Trimeperad, Trisedine, Vastarel and others.

Quickly and completely absorbed in the digestive tract, T 1/2 is about 6 hours; Undergoes biotransformation in the liver, is excreted by the kidneys.

Used for the prevention of angina attacks in IHD, as well as in dizziness caused by disorders of cerebral circulation, Meniere's disease, noise in the ears.

Data on the effectiveness of the drug in acute myocardial infarction are contradictory.

It is believed that the beneficial effect of trimetazidine in myocardial ischemia is associated primarily with its antioxidant and antihypoxic properties and cytoprotective effects on cardiomyocyte function.

Take inside (during meals) to 0.02 g (20 mg) 3 times a day.

Contraindicated in pregnancy and lactation.

Form release: tablets of 0.02 g (N. 30.60) and retard tablets at 0.035 g.
