Description of the medicine: Periciasin (Periciazine)

PERIATYAZINE (Periciazine). 2-Cyano-10- [3- (4-hydroxypiperidino) -propyl] -phenothiazine.

Synonyms: Neuleptil, Aolept, Apamin, Nemactil, Neulactil, Neuleptil, Periciazinum, Propericiazine.

Like thioridazine, it belongs to the group of piperidine derivatives of phenothiazine. These drugs have less potent antipsychotic activity than aliphatic and piperazine derivatives of phenothiazine.

Like other neuroleptics, pericyazin potentiates the effects of drugs, hypnotics and analgesics. Has adrenolytic and relatively strong cholinolytic activity; Has a strong antiemetic effect.

The antipsychotic effect of pericyazine is combined with sedative without a stimulating component.

The drug is indicated in the treatment of patients with both psychotic and psychopathic conditions. Especially effective in behavior disorders (especially in children), contact disorders. Reduces aggressiveness and thanks to a softer than the aminazine, sedative effect does not cause pronounced lethargy, inhibition, well tolerated.

In connection with a more selective, than other neuroleptics, a normalizing effect on behavior, periciazine has been called in the literature the "behavioral corrector".

Assign periciazin inside after eating. The dose for adults is first 5 to 10 mg per day; Then it is gradually increased (every 1 to 2 days by 10 mg) to obtain the optimal effect (usually up to 30-50 mg, and in some cases up to 70 to 90 mg per day).

The daily dose is given in 2 to 3 doses: in the morning 1 / 4- 1/3 of the daily dose, the rest in the evening hours (due to the possible development of drowsiness).

Children and seniors are prescribed starting with 5 mg per day, then the dose is gradually increased to 10-20 to 30 mg per day. After obtaining a stable effect, the dose of the drug is gradually reduced by selecting an individual maintenance dose.

When using the drug may appear allergic reactions, extrapyramidal disorders, but they are usually less pronounced than when treated with aminazine.

Form release: capsules of 0.01 g (10 mg) and 4% solution in vials (1 drop contains 1 mg of the drug); In the form of drops the drug is more convenient for use in children's practice.
