Description of the medicine: Flushpirilen (Fluspirilenum)

FLUSCHIPILENUM. 8- [4,4-Bis (p-fluorophenyl) butyl] -1-phenyl-1,3-triazaspiro [4, 5] decan-4-one.

Synonyms: Fluuspirilene, Fluspirilene, Redeptin, Spirodiflamine, IMAP (intramuscular antipsychotic).

Microcrystalline powder, insoluble in water. Produced in the form of a suspension in water, containing in 1 ml of 0.002 g (2 mg) of the preparation.

Flushpyrilene is a derivative of diphenylbutylpiperidine. It is an active neuroleptic agent that exerts a pronounced antipsychotic effect. On the spectrum of pharmacological action is close to haloperidol. Effective in hallucinations, delirium, autism. Soothes emotional and psychomotor agitation.

The main feature of flushpyrilene is its prolonged action. After a single intramuscular injection in the form of a suspension, the effect lasts for 1 week.

The drug is used primarily for maintenance therapy of patients with chronic mental illnesses, after treatment in the hospital. It is convenient for use in outpatient practice due to the absence of pronounced hypnosedative action. Facilitates the re-adaptation and rehabilitation of patients. Flushpyrilene can also be used in hospital settings for schizophrenia and other mental illnesses, accompanied by hallucinations, delirium, psychomotor agitation. Flushpyrilene can be combined with conventional (non-protracted) neuroleptic drugs that have a psychosedative effect.

Intake of the flupyrilylene suspension intramuscularly once a week. In hospital, first 4-6 mg (2 - 3 ml) are administered, and if necessary, increase the dose to 8-10 mg (4-5 ml). When the optimal effect is achieved, the dose is gradually reduced to a maintenance weekly dose of 2-6 mg (1-3 ml).

With prolonged treatment, you can do a weekly break every 3 to 4 weeks.

In an outpatient setting, 2-6 mg (1 -3 ml) is administered once a week.

When using the drug, extrapyramidal disorders may develop; For their prevention is recommended on the day of administration of flushpyrilene and in the next 2 days to apply anti-Parkinsonics. With long-term treatment with flushpyrilene, weight loss, general weakness, worsening of sleep, depression are possible. The first day after the injection, there may be nausea and a feeling of fatigue.

The drug is contraindicated in extrapyramidal disorders, depression, motor disorders.

Do not prescribe fluhpyrilene to women in the first 3 months of pregnancy.

Product: in ampoules of 2 ml with a content of 1 ml of 0.002 g (2 mg) flushpirilena (4 mg in 1 ampoule). Before injection, the ampoule should be shaken vigorously (to homogenize the suspension).
