Description of the medicine: Gliclazide (Gliclazide)

GLICLAZIDE. 1 - (3-Azabicyclo [3,3,0] -ethyl-3) - (p-toluenesulfonyl) urea:

Synonyms: Diamicron, Predian, Diamicron, Dramion, Glimicron, Nordialex, Predian and others.

Like other structurally related derivatives, sulfonylurea is an oral second-generation antidiabetic drug.

Applied for the treatment of type II diabetes mellitus.

It has antiaggregatory activity, reduces aggregation and adhesion of platelets, helps prevent the development of microcirculatory disorders, including the retina of the eye (diabetic retinopathy).

The drug is effective in metabolic, latent diabetes mellitus. It is shown in diabetic patients suffering from obesity.

Assign to 1 - 2 tablets (0.08 g in 1 tablet) 1 - 2 times a day in 2 divided doses.

The maximum daily dose of 3 - 4 tablets.

Predijan usually well tolerated. Its reception, as a rule, does not lead to the appearance of hypoglycemia (with the correct dosage). In case of hypersensitivity to the drug, allergic reactions are possible.

Can be used in combination with biguanides.

Contraindications: the same as for other drugs of the sulfonylurea group.

Form release: a tablet of 80 mg (0.08 g).
