Description of the medicine: Terrylitin (Terrilytinum)

TERRYLITITINE (Terrilytinum).

The drug is a proteolytic action, which is the product of the life of the mold fungus Aspergillus terriola.

The porous mass or powder is white or white with a yellowish tint of color. Easily soluble in water and isotonic sodium chloride solution, soluble in 0.25% solution of novocaine. Almost nerastvorim in alcohol; PH 1% aqueous solution 4, 6 - 6, 5. Easily inactivated under the influence of acids and alkalis.

The activity of the drug is expressed in proteolytic units (PE); 1 mg of the drug should contain at least 2 PE.

Apply terrylitin, like chymopsin; For the treatment of purulent wounds, burns, trophic ulcers, pressure sores, inflammatory diseases of the upper respiratory tract (tracheitis, bronchitis, pneumonia, bronchiectasis, lung abscess and a number of other diseases accompanied by the accumulation of thick viscous exudate).

To treat purulent wounds, burns, bedsores, terrylitin is used topically in the form of a solution containing in 1 ml 40-50 PE. The contents of one bottle (200 PE) are dissolved in 4 to 5 ml of water for injection, or isotonic sodium chloride solution, or 0.25% solution of novocaine, moistened with a tissue, applied to the wound and covered with a waterproof dressing. The bandage is changed once a day. With deep burns and other lesions with a large number of necrotic tissues, the drug is used as a powder, then a cloth is applied that is slightly moistened with an isotonic sodium chloride solution or 0.25% solution of novocaine. Over apply a waterproof dressing. The bandage is changed 1 time in 1 - 2 days, while removing the exfoliated necrotic tissue.

For inhalation, dissolve the contents of the vial in 5 to 8 ml of water or isotonic sodium chloride solution and use as an aerosol, usually 2 ml per inhalation (not more than 5 ml). Inhalations produce 1 to 2 times a day for 3 to 5 days. Possible side effects, as in the application of chymopsin.

Terridecase (Terridecasum). The product of terrylitin addition to oxidized polyglucin.

Porous mass or lyophilized powder of white (with a yellowish tinge) color.

Apply externally for the treatment of purulent wounds. Apply on a wound a thin layer or wet the napkins with a solution of the drug.

Product: in bottles containing 100 PE. Dissolve in an isotonic solution of sodium chloride or in a 0.25% solution of novocaine.

Local allergic reactions are possible.
