Stretching and tearing
. Damage to tissues with a partial break of them while maintaining anatomical continuity is called stretching. More common is the sprain of the joints. The mechanism of injury is due to the stretching of tissues by two forces acting in the opposite direction, or a strong pull in one direction with a fixed body, organ or area. Usually happens when falling, lifting weights, running, etc. The treatment is close to that of a bruise.
If the acting force exceeds the resistance of the tissues, then there is a rupture of ligaments, fascia, muscles, tendons, nerves, etc.
- ligament rupture
- Tears of the knee ligaments and capsules
- Muscle fascias rupture
- Complete or incomplete muscle breaks
