Cryptocoryne cordata
(Cryptocorona heart-shaped)

Synonyms: C, purpurea, C. grabowskii, S. grandis

Homeland: The Malay Archipelago

A beautiful and strong plant with oval, pointed leaves, whose veins are colored reddish. The leaves are sometimes purple (although in our illustration they are green). The color of the leaves directly depends on the illumination. S. corda ta gives many shoots. Making this plant bloom is very difficult, but if it still works out, the beauty of its inflorescence (up to 20 cm in length) rewards for a long wait.

This species does not need bright light (then the leaves turn red), but the soil must be nutritious, and the hardness of the water should not exceed 12 ° dH. Easy peat filtration contributes to the creation of an enabling environment.
