OXYTETRACYCLINA DIHYDRATE (Oxytetracyclini dihydras).

Oxytetracycline is an antimicrobial substance produced by Streptomyces rimosus or other related organisms.

Synonyms: Oxytetracycline, Tarhocin, Terramycin, Oxymykoin, Oxyterracyna, Tarchocine, Tetran.

By its structure and action is close to tetracycline and chlorotetracycline.

Oxytetracycline dihydrate is a light yellow crystalline powder, bitter to the taste. Very little and slowly soluble in water, easily - in dilute alkalis and acids. When stored in the dark, it gets dark.

The antibacterial spectrum is close to tetracycline. Quickly absorbed and relatively long-lasting in the body. Assign inside as tablets.

Therapeutic and higher doses for adults and children are the same as for tetracycline.

Possible complications and contraindications in the use of oxytetracycline are the same as with the use of teatricycline.

Form release: tablets of 0.25 (250 000 units).

Ointment "Oxysone" (Unguentum "Ohuzonum"). Contains oxytetracycline dihydrate 3% and hydrocortisone acetate 1%.

Ointment is light yellow or yellow with a grayish tinge.

In the ointment antimicrobial action of the antibiotic with the anti-inflammatory effect of hydrocortisone is combined.

Applied for the treatment of infected specimens, infected wounds, pustular skin diseases, erosions, allergic dermatoses. Ointment is applied to the affected areas of the skin 1 to 3 times a day. It is possible to apply a bandage.

Ointment is usually well tolerated, however, in some cases, allergic skin reactions may be observed.

With tuberculosis of the skin, mycosis, viral skin diseases, ointment is contraindicated.
