MIKOGEPTIN (Mycoheptinum). 7-Dihydro-5-dehydroxydidine.

Polyene antibiotic produced by actinomycete Steptoverticillium mycoheptinicum.

The structure is similar to amphotericin B.

Powder of dark yellow color without smell and taste. Sensitive to light and high temperature, it is inactivated by the action of acids and alkalis. Almost nerastvorim in water, very little soluble in alcohol.

The drug is active against pathogens of deep systemic mycoses and yeast-like fungi.

When ingestion is partially absorbed; Is excreted in the urine.

The drug has a therapeutic effect in visceral fungal infections. Applied with coccidioidosis, histoplasmosis, cryptococcosis, aspergillosis, candidiasis and some other mycoses.

Assign inside by 0.25 g (250,000 units) 2 times a day for 10 to 14 days. With good portability, you can repeat courses.

For the treatment of external manifestations of mycoses (interdigital erosion, cheilitis, lesions of the folds of the skin and external, genital organs, etc.), an ointment containing 1 mg of 15 mg (15,000 units) of mycoheptin is used. Ointment is applied to the affected areas of the skin 1 - 2 times a day. The course of treatment is 10 to 15 days. If necessary, the course of treatment can be repeated. Ointment can be used alone or simultaneously with taking pills or capsules of mycoheptin inside.

When taking the drug inside, there may be impairment of the kidney and gastrointestinal tract. Treatment should be carried out under the control of the content of residual blood nitrogen and in the study of urine. If the level of residual nitrogen is more than 28.6 mmol / l, or when protein and pathological elements appear in the urine, and when there are severe dyspeptic disorders, the drug is stopped until these changes disappear.

In the case of allergic reactions (skin rashes, pruritus) prescribe antihistamines, with dyspepsia (nausea, pain in the stomach) - inside the solution of novocaine.

When the complications are repeated, treatment with mycoheptin is stopped.

The drug is contraindicated for violations of kidney and liver, acute diseases of the gastrointestinal tract of non-fungal etiology, individual intolerance to mycoheptin.

Ointment should not be used in the presence of wound surfaces, abundant discharge.
