TINIDAZOL. 1 - (2-Ethylsulfonylethyl) -2-methyl-5-nitroimidazole.

Synonyms: Tinib, Tridazol, Fasizhin, Ametin, Fasigyn, Glongyn, Pletil, Tiniba, Tinidex, Tinogin, Tores, Tricanix, Tricolam, Triconidazol, Tridazol, Trinigyn and others.

By structure and action is close to metronidazole. Applied with trichomoniasis in women and men, as well as with giardiasis and amoebic dysentery.

For the treatment of trichomoniasis, men and women take tablets of tinidazole inward by 0.5 g according to one of the following schemes: 1) once in a dose of 2 g; 2) in the same dose, 0.5 g every 15 minutes for an hour (4 doses), 3) 0.15 g 2 times daily for a week. Children are given at a rate of 50-60 mg / kg.

With giardiasis, a dose of 2 g (4 tablets) is administered once 40 to 50 minutes after breakfast or 0.3 g per day for 7 days, with a persistent course of the disease, 6-7 courses are administered; With amoebic dysentery - 1, 5 g (3 tablets) 1 time per day for 3 days.

Contraindications are the same as for metronidazole.
