GLYUKANTIM (Glucantim).

The preparation of pentavalent antimony - N-methylglucamine antimonate.

Synonyms: meglumine antimonate, Meglumine antimonate.

Applied as a means Antileishmaniasis (with cutaneous and visceral leishmaniasis).

Enter intramuscularly deeply. The daily dose - 0.06 g (60 mg) per 1 kg of body weight. On the first day ¼ administered dose, the 2nd - S, 3rd - ¾ dose, then a full dose. The course of treatment - 10-15 injections; 8-12 are a total dose. If necessary, a second course of 4-6 weeks, and the daily dose can be increased to 0.1 g / kg.

Cutaneous leishmaniasis is allowed topical application of the drug.

Possible side effects: fever, nausea, vomiting, cough.

Contraindications: pulmonary tuberculosis, expressed violations of the liver and kidneys, severe cardiovascular disease.
