Description medications: Trihomonatsid (Trichomonacidum)

TRIHOMONATSID (Trichomonacidum).

2- (4-nitrostyryl) -4- (1-methyl-4-dietilaminobutilamino) -6-methoxyquinoline triphosphate.

Yellow or brownish yellow amorphous powder. Soluble in water, practically insoluble in alcohol.

It has a high activity against Trichomonas.

Used to treat urogenital diseases caused by Trichomonas vaginalis, women and men.

Administered orally and topically.

Inside (after eating) designate an adult to 0.3 grams per day (2-3 hours) for 3-5 days, children reduce the dose according to age. Men are simultaneously infused into the urethra 10 ml of a 1% solution trihomonatsida 10-15 min for 5-6 days. The course of treatment can be repeated after 10-20 days. Women are at the same time with oral drug is prescribed locally in the form of vaginal suppositories (0.05 g), which for 10 days is introduced into the vagina at night (after douching). Treatment is carried out for three menstrual cycles (after menses).

Trihomonatsid in high doses and high concentrations can be irritating to the mucous membranes. In women after administration of suppositories sometimes there are copious and unpleasant sensations in the vaginal area; these effects disappear after drug withdrawal or dose reduction. Men may experience profuse discharge from the urethra; In these cases, the infusion was stopped temporarily.
