Outside the Osokorki metro station in Kiev, community activists and local residents tried to prevent new developments at the exit of the metro station, the fence of which appeared on Monday morning.
As reported by LB.UA, on Monday morning, January 17, a wasteland near the metro station, which leads to the transition to Sribnokilskaya Street, was fenced off. In this section of the avenue, they plan to build a new shopping and entertainment center Le Boulvard ("Le Boulevard").
Nearly 200 residents of the neighborhood at 19:00 went to the place of the future construction to demolish the fence. The activists said that the construction documents were issued at Chernovtsy, the Kiev City Council’s commission had not yet checked them, there was no public discussion on the construction. In addition, according to them, the construction prevents the passage to the subway.
However, the developer seemed to be ready for the previously announced stock. At the appointed time, four buses arrived at the construction site with policemen. The journalists identified the former "Berkutovtsy" in them. Policemen refused to introduce themselves, behaved aggressively, immediately began to detain activists. A scuffle began, during which one of the law enforcement officers hit LB.ua correspondent in the stomach. Also got a journalist "New Channel". About 10 people were pushed into the buses by the police and tried to take them out, but not towards the local administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, but towards the center.
Locals tried to rescue their comrades by blocking the way for buses and starting to throw stones. However, the police officers pushed them aside.
According to activists, the police of the Darnitsky district "roof" the developer - "SKY-BUD LTD", which is owned by the former deputy mayor of Kiev Valery Mironov.
UPD: 11/18/2014 “Day of the People’s Wrath”: In the center of Budapest, more than 10 thousand people protested against the corruption of the authorities. PHOTO report + VIDEO
Tonight, November 17, in Budapest, more than ten thousand Hungarians came to the parliament building, protesting against corruption.
According to HB, the organizers and participants note that they are protesting against state corruption, tax increases and Hungary’s current foreign policy (openly anti-European and pro-Kremlin), and demand freedom, transparency, responsible leadership and attachment to real European values.
People cordoned off the parliament building after Prime Minister Viktor Orban refused to fire the head of the Tax, Ildiko Vidu, who was recently banned from entering the United States because of corruption charges.
Exactly a week ago, the protesters had already gathered with a similar demand, and also asked for EU intervention. Currently, at the entrance to the parliament building there is a crush between activists and police officers.
According to local media, the head of the Hungarian tax service is listed in the US blacklist along with six more Hungarian officials who are banned from entering the country due to corruption charges. Ildiko Vida denies all the charges against her.
