Rules of the game. The North American card game, it is believed that it originated from the Canast game. There are versions of the game for six players in two teams of three players in each or any number of players, where everyone plays for himself, but the most popular version is for 4 players in a partnership. Let's describe this version, the rules of which were provided by Bill Whitnack. Partners become, if desired, or by lot. Before the game, the partners are located at the table opposite each other so that each player's left and right hand have his rivals. The game uses 5 deck of cards, including 2 jokers in each deck, only 270 cards. The first deliverer in the game is determined by a lot or at will, in the following games, players dealt cards in turn, clockwise. Next, the handler carefully mixes, shuffles all the cards and puts in 4 closed stacks of 13 cards, then he clockwise transfers one stack to each player, these cards are called "hand." After that, he puts out 4 more closed piles of 13 cards, then he again passes clockwise each stack to one player, these cards are called "foot". Thus, each player received 2 stacks of cards, the first stack received is called the "hand", and the second stack received is called "leg". The remaining cards are placed in a closed form, that is, the face down in the center of the table, this will be the stock. The top card is removed from the reserve and placed next to the reserve in clear form. This card starts the reset stack. If this card turns out to be a three-color red or a joker, this card is put in the middle of the stock and the top card for the first reset card is removed from the top of the deck again. Each player picks up cards "hands", and cards "feet" are forbidden to look, while there are cards of the hand.

The goal of each player is to get rid of all cards of his hand, and then get rid of the cards of the leg, making up a set of cards "chalk" (MELD). Meld is a set of 3 to 7 cards inclusive of one rank, which are placed on the table face up. Meld can not have less than 3 or more 7 cards. The laid out sets belong to not one player, but to both, who play in partnership. Partners can put these combinations together, for example, one player from the team opens the set with three cards, and the partner continues this set. In sets, it is allowed to use cards from a fours to an ace inclusive. Three in sets can not be used, since they have a special meaning. Doubles and jokers are free cards and they can be used in sets instead of any others, but a set of 3, 4 or 5 cards can contain no more than one joker or two and a set of 6 or 7 cards can contain no more than 2 such cards. It is allowed to assemble a set completely from free maps, from twos or jokers. So, there are the following types of chalk:

Pure chalk - the set does not use deuces and jokers;

Dirty crayons - in the set there is one or two free cards (deuce or joker);

Wild chalk - the set consists entirely of free cards (twos or jokers).

Meld consisting of seven cards, is complete and is called a "pile". When a set of cards is collected, these cards lie in a pile, and the top card of the stack should indicate:

Pure chalk - the top card of the stack must be a red suit;

Dirty chalk - the top card of the stack must be a black suit;

Wild chalk - the top card of the stack should be a free card (a joker or a deuce).

Collected chalk from seven cards must be stored only in front of one member of 2 partners, and the other partner of this team must keep the chalk from 3 to 6 cards.

The game ends when one player gets rid of all his cards in his hand and leg, but all the following conditions must be met:

Both team mates, where the player got rid of all their cards must have 2 clean chalk, 2 dirty chalk and one wild chalk;

Partner, the player who got rid of all his cards had to get rid of the cards of the hand and play with the cards of the foot;

The player who got rid of all his cards should ask his partner if he can quit the game, and if the partner agrees, the game ends, and if not, the player does not quit the game this turn.

After the game ends, the scoring for the cards that are left in the hand and leg of the player begins. Cost of cards in glasses:

50 points for each joker;

20 points for each deuce or ace;

10 points - for each card from the eight to the king inclusive;

5 points - for each card from four to seven inclusive;

5 points - for every three of a black suit.

There are also bonus points, which are considered separate from the points for the cards. Teams of players receive the following bonus points for the sets of cards they have collected:

500 bonus points - for each clean chalk;

300 bonus points - for each dirty crayon;

150 bonus points for each wild chalk;

100 bonus points - for leaving the game, when the player gets rid of all his cards and the game ends;

100 bonus points - for every three of the red suit.

So, the first move in the game belongs to the player to the left of the handler. The first player, like everyone following clockwise, should first of all put on the table in the open form of a three-color red and take the same number of cards from the stock cards. If the first player does not have these triples, then the move moves to the next player clockwise until at least one triple is laid out, after which the player on his turn does the following:

Takes two cards from the stock;

Can report one or more cards to the collected set of cards with his partner;

Put one of your own cards on top of the stack.

Alternatively, if you take 2 cards from the stock cards, the player can take 7 top cards from the discard pile, provided that there are at least 7 cards in the reset pile. In order to pick up cards from the discard pile, all of the following 3 conditions must be met:

The top card of the dump stack must not be a triple;

The player must have two cards that are of the same value as the top reset card;

The player must immediately combine all these three cards together with the cards that the player has in his hand.

It should be noted that the kits are collected only in partnership, that is, the partners of one team can not collect the sets of partners of the other team. You can not collect several chalk at once. At first, one gathers and only after collecting the first partners begin to collect the second.

Foot cards. When hand cards end, the player raises his foot cards, there are 2 ways how this can happen. If the player manages to put all the cards of the hand into the set, then the player can immediately raise the cards of the foot and continue his move, discarding one card in the reset. On the other hand, if a player has invested all the cards of the hand except one in the set, then the player discards one remaining card in the discard and takes the cards of the foot that he plays in his next turn.

Red and black threes. Reds are always used to start collecting sets. Whenever a player discovers that he has a red three in his hand, he should immediately place it face down on his table and take one card from the reserve in return. Why should this be done? Because in the event that a partner of this player leaves the game, they start to earn bonus points and in the absence of this red three the partners will not get bonus points for them. And from the black triples can get rid of, only throwing them into the reset.

End of the game. As it was written above, the game ends, if the player, asked permission from his partner to leave the game and made up a set, got rid of all his cards. There is also the usual end of the game, when the stock is over, in this case, players count the points for the remaining cards and no one gets bonus points for leaving the game. Usually, players play a few games and, based on their results, determine the winning team. The players agree on the number of games before the first game.
