Small round muscle

Small round muscle, m. Teres minor, is an oblong, somewhat rounded form (on the cross section) of the cord, the muscle bundles of which are parallel to each other.

The upper edge of the muscle closely adjoins the m. Infraspinatus; The back part of it is covered by m. Teres major, and front - m. Deltoideus. The muscle starts from the lateral margin of the scapula, occupying here a narrow, elongated along the site, located below the subarticular tubercle, to the lower angle of the scapula. Sent laterally, the muscle passes into a short and rather powerful tendon, which in its turn fuses with the back surface of the joint capsule of the shoulder joint and is attached to the lower edge of the large tubercle of the humerus.
