Long palm muscle
The long palm muscle , m. Palmaris longus, has a short spindle-shaped abdomen and a very long sinew. It lies directly under the skin to the inside of the m. Flexor carpi radialis. It starts from the medial epicondyle of the humerus, the intermuscular septum and the fascia of the forearm, and, going to the brush, passes into a wide palmar aponeurosis, aponeurosis palmaris.
Function: pulls the palmar aponeurosis and takes part in the bending of the hand.
Innervation: n. Medianus [CVII-CVIII (ThI)].
Blood supply: a. Radialis.
