Description medications: Desmetilimipramin (Desmethylimipraminum)

DESMETILIMIPRAMIN (Desmethylimipraminum). N- (3-methylaminopropyl) -iminodibenzil.

Synonyms: desipramine, Petilil, Deprexan, Desipramine, Norimipramin, Norpramin , Norpran, Nortimil, Pertofran, Petylyl, Sertofren and others.

Chemically it is demethylated analog of imipramine. The body is formed as a natural metabolite. It has antidepressant properties. According to the mechanism of action, indications for use and therapeutic effect similar to imipramine.

Assign inwards in the form of pills to 0,025 g, in the early days of 2 - 3 times a day, gradually increasing the dose up to 6 - 8 pills a day. Usually the therapeutic dose of 4 - 6 tablets daily, supports - 3 - 4 tablets daily.

Side effects and contraindications are the same as for imipramine and amitriptyline.
