TRIMEPHACINE (Trimephacinum).

Trimefacin is a complexing compound containing a diethylenetriamine pentamethylphosphonic acid hexahydrate.

Accelerates the excretion of urine from urine and beryllium, as well as plutonium, yttrium, zirconium, niobium.

Applied for first aid in acute poisoning with uranium and beryllium, as well as in the secondary intake of beryllium to identify its carrier.

Enter the drug intravenously or by inhalation in the form of a 5% aqueous solution.

To prepare the solution, enter into a vial containing 0.226 or 0.9 g of diethylenetriamine pentamethylphosphonic acid hexanoate, 5 or 20 ml of a 2.5% solution of calcium chloride; The resulting slurry is shaken (20 to 30 seconds) until a completely clear solution is obtained.

In acute poisoning with uranium or beryllium, 40 ml of the solution is injected into the vein, and in the next 2 to 3 days - 20 ml daily.

When uranium and beryllium enter the respiratory tract and in the absence of signs of pulmonary edema, trimefacin is administered simultaneously into the vein and in the form of inhalations. Aerosol therapy is performed 1 to 2 times a day using ultrasonic aerosol generators. The duration of inhalation is 15-20 minutes, the consumption of a solution of trimetcin is 1 inhalation of 15-20 ml. Duration of treatment 2 - 4 weeks with 1 - 2-day breaks per week. In chronic processes in the lungs, due to the deposition of beryllium, the treatment is carried out according to the same scheme.

When using the drug should monitor the function of the kidneys.

Product: vials containing 0.226 g or 0.9 g of diethylenetriamine pentamethylphosphonic acid diisodium salt (lyophilized), with an ampoule of 2.5% calcium chloride solution (5 or 20 ml respectively).
