Description of the medicine: Litonit (Litonitum)
Lithium salt of nicotinic acid.
White crystalline powder. Easily soluble in water.
Litonite is proposed as a nonspecific adjuvant for the complex treatment of patients with alcoholism. The action of the drug is aimed at improving metabolic processes and hemodynamics (due to the component of nicotinic acid - see) and reducing affective disorders (due to lithium ion).
Litonite is used to reduce the craving for alcohol, to weaken the phenomena of withdrawal symptoms, as well as for acute alcohol intoxication (in combination with other means and methods of treatment).
Use lithonite in the form of a 10% solution intravenously.
With withdrawal symptoms, 0.1 - 0.2 g (content of 1-2 ampoules) is administered 2 times a day for 1 week. Intravenous administration can be combined with emotionally stressful psychotherapy (see Special drugs for the treatment of alcoholism).
In acute alcohol poisoning, lithonite is administered intravenously until the signs of intoxication disappear, after diluting the solution in 10-15 ml of a 5-40% glucose solution.
When lithonitis is used, side effects characteristic of nicotinic acid are possible (redness of the face and upper half of the body, sensation of a rush to the head, urticaria, etc.). Intravenous administration of the drug should be carried out in a horizontal position of the patient.
The use of lithonitis is contraindicated in pregnancy, acute renal and liver failure, poisoning with drugs and other chemical compounds, with poor tolerance of nicotinic acid preparations.
Release form: 10% solution for injection in ampoules of 1 ml (Sol. Litoniti 10% pro injectionibus) in a package of 10 pieces. The colorless liquid is transparent.
