Description of the medicine: Intestopanum (Intestopanum)
Intestopanum.
Tablets containing 0.2 g of 5, 7-dibromo-8-hydroxyquinoline and 0.04 g of 5, 7-dibromo-8-benzoyloxyquinaldine.
The drug has antibacterial and antiprotozoal activity and is close to the mechanism of action of chloroquinaldol.
Applied with acute and chronic enterocolitis, amoebic and bacillary dysentery, putrefactive dyspepsia.
Assign for acute disorders to adults 1 to 2 tablets 4 to 6 times a day, maximum for 10 days. In chronic cases, 1 to 2 tablets 3 times a day. Children under 2 years - 1/4 tablets per 1 kg of body weight per day in 3 - 4 admission, over 2 years - 1 - 2 tablets 2 - 4 times a day. Tablets are ground, washed down with milk or water.
Since intestopan contains a derivative of 8-hydroxyquinoline, all the same precautions as for other drugs in this group should be followed when it is used.
Contraindications are the same as for chlorohinaldol. The content of bromine in intestopane should be taken into account.
