Description of the medicine: Arbidol (Arbidolum)

ARBIDOLUM.

Ethyl 6-bromo-5-hydroxy-1-methyl-4-dimethylaminomethyl-2-phenylthiomethylindole-3-carboxylic acid hydrochloride monohydrate.

Crystalline powder from white with a greenish tinge to a light yellow with a greenish tinge. Almost nerastvorim in the water.

Arbidol is an antiviral drug that has an inhibitory effect on influenza A and B viruses.

The drug has a special mechanism of action, has a specific effect on viruses, has interferon-inducing activity and stimulates the humoral and cellular immune responses, which increases the body's resistance to viral infections.

Arbidol as a therapeutic agent for influenza (types A and B) adults are ingested before meals to 0.2 g (2 tablets) 4 times daily for 3 days.

In prophylactic purposes, arbidol is taken in contact with influenza patients at 0.2 g per day for 10-14 days, and during the epidemic of influenza and seasonal increase in the incidence of ARVI - 0.1 g once a day, every 3 to 4 Day for 3 weeks.

In case of complication of SARS with pneumonia and decrease of immunological status, patients are prescribed 0.2 g 3 times a day for 5 days, then 0.2 g once a week for 3 to 4 weeks.

Arbidol should not be prescribed to patients with concomitant diseases of the cardiovascular system, liver and kidneys.

With individual intolerance, taking the drug is stopped.

Form release: tablets, coated with a white or white shell with a creamy shade of color, 0.1 g in a package of 30 pieces.
