Description of the medicine: Fluconazole (Fluconazole)

FLUCONAZOLE (Fluconazole). 2- (2, 4-Difluorophenyl) -1,3-bis (1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-yl) -2-propanol.

Synonyms: Diflucan, Diflucan.

Antifungal preparation of a new chemical group - triazole derivatives; Contains 2 fluorine atoms.

Has a pronounced antifungal effect; Specifically inhibits the synthesis of fungal sterols.

Quickly absorbed when taken orally. Long lasting in the blood plasma. It is excreted mainly by the kidneys (up to 80%).

Applied with various fungal infections: with cryptococcosis, including cryptococcal meningitis; With systemic candidiasis, candidiasis of the mucous membranes, vaginal candidiasis; For the prevention of fungal infections in patients with malignant neoplasms in the treatment of their cytostatics or the conduct of radiation therapy; When organ transplantation and in other cases, when immunity is suppressed and there is a danger of developing fungal infection.

Assign fluconazole inside and intravenously.

For intravenous administration, the drug is released in the form of 0.2% solution and isotonic sodium chloride solution, for oral administration in capsules of 50; 100; 150 and 200 mg and in the form of a syrup containing 5 mg in 1 ml (0.5%).

The daily dose for both methods of application is the same. In connection with the long half-life, it is enough to take the drug 1 time per day. The usual therapeutic doses vary from 200 to 400 mg per day, with candidiasis of the mucous membranes - 50-100 mg per day; With vaginal candidiasis 150 mg. The duration of treatment depends on the nature of the disease and the effectiveness of the drug (from 7 to 14 to 30 days).

Usually the drug is well tolerated. Diarrhea, flatulence, skin rash are possible.

The drug should not be prescribed during pregnancy and lactation, as well as children under 16 years.

Fluconazole increases the effect of anticoagulants, oral hypoglycemic agents, hydrochlorothiazide, diphenine. When combined with rifampicin, the half-life of fluconazole is shortened, so some increase in its dose is necessary.
