Bemegrida (Bemegridum). 2-Methyl-2-ztilglutarimid, or 2, 6-dioxo-4-methyl-4-ethyl-piperidine.

Synonyms: Ahypnon, Bemegride, Etimid, Eukraton , Glutamisol, Malysol, Megibal, Megimide, Methertharmide, Mikedimide, Zentraleptin.

The white crystalline powder, odorless, bitter taste. Slightly soluble in water (0.5%), it is difficult - in alcohol.

Solutions (in izotonichesnom sodium chloride; pH 5 0 - 6 5) sterilized at + 105 - 110 C for 30 min.

Chemically Bemegride relates to derivatives of 2, 6-dioxopiperidin.

Bemegride antagonizes hypnotic drugs: barbiturates, reduces toxicity, reduces respiratory depression and circulatory caused by these substances. Analeptic action bemegrida not limited to antagonism with barbiturates. The drug has a stimulating effect on the central nervous system and is effective for inhibition of respiration and circulation of various origins.

Apply Bemegride acute barbiturate poisoning; to eliminate pauses in breathing during anesthesia barbiturates, tiobarbituraty and other drugs (ether, halothane and et al.); for the termination of anesthesia barbiturates and tiobarbituraty and accelerate awakening during anesthesia, as well as in other cases that require analeptikov, including the elimination of severe hypoxic conditions.

Bemegride slowly administered intravenously in a 0.5% solution. In acute barbiturate poisoning, and for the withdrawal of barbiturate and combined (with the use of barbiturates and other drugs) anesthesia is administered 5 - 10 ml (adult); with little effect or no repeat injections at intervals of 2 - 3 minutes to recover reflexes, recess or full restoration of breathing, normalizing the heart rate and blood pressure. The total number of injected drug depends on the severity of poisoning and the patient's general condition. The appearance of the limbs jerking serves as a signal to stop the administration of the drug.

With the introduction of bemegrida children reduce the dose as many times as the child's body weight is less than the average weight of an adult body.

Bemegrida Injections can be combined with the introduction mezatona, caffeine and other cardiovascular agents.

Bemegride as analeptic is administered intravenously 2 - 5 ml of a 0.5% solution.

When applying bemegrida in cases of acute poisoning with barbiturates performed simultaneously other necessary activities in these cases: gastric lavage (when taking into barbiturates), intravenous injection of glucose solution and isotonic sodium chloride solution when necessary use of antibiotics to prevent infection, and others.

If overdose possible nausea, vomiting, muscle twitching, convulsions.

Bemegride contraindicated in psychomotor agitation.

Product: 0.5% solution bemegrida in isotonic sodium chloride solution in vials of 10 ml (10 ml containing 0.05 g).
