Description of the medicine: Tenoxicam

TENOXICAM.

4-Oxy-2-methyl-N-2-pyridinyl-2H-thieno [2,3-e] -1,2-thiazine-3-carboxamide-1,1-dioxide.

Synonyms: Tenikam, Tenoktil, Tilkotil, Tobitil, Tenicam, Tenoktil, Tilcotil, Tobitil.

Has a pronounced anti-inflammatory and analgesic and moderate antipyretic effect.

Quickly and completely absorbed in the digestive tract, bioavailability reaches 100%, Cmax is 2 h, T1 / 2 - 60-75 h (in connection with which the drug is prescribed 1 time per day); Undergoes biotransformation in the liver, is excreted in urine and feces in the form of metabolites.

Applied with rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, extraarticular rheumatism (tendovaginitis, bursitis, myositis), gout, neuralgia, myalgia, with trauma.

Assign inside and rectally to 0,02-0,04 g (20-40 mg) 1 time per day.

Possible side effects: dyspepsia, anorexia, ulcerogenic effect, insomnia, depression or increased excitability, peripheral edema, visual impairment, skin allergic reactions.

The drug is contraindicated in peptic ulcer of stomach and duodenum, diabetes, violations of liver and kidney function, heart failure, arterial hypertension, pregnancy and breast-feeding.

Strengthens the effect of indirect anticoagulants, lithium preparations, oral hypoglycemic drugs; Other NSAIDs increase the risk of side effects of tenoxicam.
