Azelastine (Azelastine).

4 - [(4-Chlorophenyl) methyl] -2- (hexahydro-1-methyl-1H-azepin-4-yl) -1 (2H) -phthalazinone.

Synonym: Allergodil, Allergodil.

Blocks H 1 histamine receptors and inhibits mast cell degranulation (prevents the release of histamine and other mediators of allergy).

Easily absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract and mucous membranes with a T ½ is approximately 20 hours, penetrates the blood-tissue barriers; excreted by the kidneys as metabolites.

Applied with allergic rhinitis and conjunctivitis (seasonal and perennial).

Assign inside of 0.002 g (2 mg) overnight, intranasally - 1-2 inhalation in each nostril 1-2 times daily instillation in each eye 1 drop 2-4 times per day.

Possible side effects: using nasal spray - dryness and irritation of the nasal mucosa, epistaxis, and taste disturbance; the application of eye drops - conjunctival irritation and a bitter taste in the mouth.

The drug is contraindicated in the I trimester of pregnancy and breast-feeding, the age of 4 years (eye drops) and up to 6 years (nasal spray).

In the treatment of conjunctivitis should not wear contact lenses.

Method of issuance: pills to 0,002 grams (2 mg); 0.1% spray for intranasal administration in vials of 10 ml (0.14 mg / dose); 0.05% solution (eyedrops) - 6 vials and 10 ml.
