Description of the medicine: Triazolam (Triazolam)

TRIAZOLAM (Triazolam). 8-Chloro-6- (ortho-chlorophenyl) -1-methyl-1H-S-triazolo [4, 3a] [1,4] benzodiazepine.

Synonyms: Somnethon, Halcyon, Clorazolam, Halcion, Insomnium, Novidorm, Nuctan, Somneton, Songar and others.

By structure, triazolam is close to alprazolam (see), differs from it only in the presence of the C 1 atom at the phenyl nucleus in position 6. These drugs differ in their action. Triazolam has a pronounced hypnotic effect and in this respect is close to nitrazepam, while alprazolam is closer to tranquilizers in the spectrum of action.

In comparison with nitrazepam, triazolam acts in smaller doses. Its effective hypnotic dose is 0.25-0.5 mg. It is rapidly absorbed when taken orally and is relatively quickly eliminated from the body. The half-life is 1, 5 - 3 hours. Triazolam lasts shorter than nitrazepam. Daytime drowsiness and other side effects are less pronounced than with nitrazepam, however, when using triazolam, the same precautions should be followed as with nitrazepam. It should be borne in mind that triazolam is a relatively new drug, therefore one should not allow uncontrolled use of it.

Form release: tablets of 0.25 mg (blue) and 0.5 mg (white).

Storage: List B.

Abroad, some other benzodiazepine derivatives, similar in structure to benzodiazepine tranquilizers, are also used as hypnotics.

Flurazepam. Synonyms: Benozil, Dalmador, Dalmane, Dormodor, Enoctan, Fludan, Fluzepam, Insumin, Lunipax, Noctosom, Novoflupam, Vallorm and others.

Lorazepam (Lorazepam). Synonyms: Almazin, Amparax, Ansilor, Ativan, Salmogenol, Duralozam, Larotensil, Lorsedal, Moderal, Sedatival, Tolid, Tranquipan and others.

Temazepam. Synonyms: Cerepax, Lenal, Levanxol, Methyloxazepam, Nörmijon, Remastan, Temazepax, Temazin, Tonirem and others.

These drugs are similar in structure and action to nitrazepam (a fluorine atom is contained in the flurazepam molecule). Differences in suction speed, duration of action, effective doses.

Flurazepam is absorbed rapidly, but is slowly released; The half-life (together with the active metabolite) is 50-100 hours. An effective hypnotic dose of 15-30 mg.

Lorazepam is absorbed more slowly, the half-life is 10-20 hours; A dose of 2-4 mg.

Temazepam is absorbed slowly, the half-life is 10 to 17 hours; A dose of 15 to 30 mg.
