Tretinoin (Tretinoin).

Trans-retinoic acid form (having the same structure as that of cis-form - Isotretinoin cm.).

Synonyms: Airolo, Vesanoid, Lokatsid, Retin-A, Abarel, Acnavit, Acnelyse, Acretin , Airol, Aknoten, Aviderm, Dermairol, Effederm, Locacid, Retin-A, Tretin, Vesanoid and others.

The yellow or light-orange crystalline powder. Practically insoluble in water, glycerin and mineral oils; sparingly in ethanol, polyethylene glycol, dimethylsulfoxide.

When applied topically on the action close to isotretinoin (Roaccutane).

Entering into stimulates the differentiation process and inhibits the proliferation of promyelocytes.

When cutaneous application absorbed 30% of the formulation. Entering into rapidly absorbed, with _max of 1-2 h, T _½ - 30 minutes-2 hours; biotransformation in the liver, excreted in the urine and faeces.

Assign the vulgar acne and drain (locally) and acute promyelocytic leukemia that are resistant to standard chemotherapy (inside).

Used topically as a cream, lotion or solution for topical application. Apply a thin layer to the affected area 1-2 times a day. Course of treatment of 4-6 or more (up to 14) weeks. the drug in the 0.05% concentration usually applied. With little effect and good tolerance are used in concentrations of 0.1%. The treated skin areas should be protected from sunlight. The drug should not be exposed to the eyes and mucous membranes.

Inside appoint 45mg / m ² per day (in 2 divided doses) for 30-90 days (maximum permissible daily dose for adults and children, respectively, 135 and 60 mg / m ^2).

Possible side effects: bone pain and muscle weakness, increased intracranial pressure, impaired hearing and vision, indigestion, liver and kidney, alopecia; when applied topically - redness and skin irritation.

Contraindicated during pregnancy (probably teratogenic and embryotoxic action).

Method of issuance: capsules of 0.01 g (N. 100); 0.05% and 0.1% cream in tubes of 20 g and 30; 0.1% solution for external use in vials of 15 ml; 0.05% lotion in bottles of 50 ml; 0.025%; 0.05% or 0.1% gel.
