Description of the medicine: Fosfomycin tromethamine (Fosmomycin tromethamine)
FOSFOMYCIN Tromomethamine (Fosmomycin tromethamine).
(1R, 2S) - (1,2-Epoxypropyl) phosphonic acid in combination with 2-amino-2- (hydroxymethyl) -1,3-propanediol.
Synonym: Monural, Monural.
It is active mainly against gram-negative microorganisms (Escherichia coli and Haemophilus influenzae, Salmonella, Shigella, Proteus), including strains resistant to other antibiotics; moderately active against staphylococci and inactive against streptococci and enterococci. Does not affect Pseudomonas aeruginosa and anaerobes.
Used for cystitis (acute and recurrent).
Assign inside adults with acute cystitis 3 g once, with chronic the same dose 2 times with an interval of 24 hours.
Possible side effects: dyspeptic symptoms, headache, dizziness, impaired liver function, skin allergic reactions.
Release form: powder for suspension for oral administration in bags of 3 g.
