Description of the medicine: Ipratropium bromide (Ipratropium bromide)

IPRATROPIUM Bromide (Ipratropium bromide) *.

A quaternary atropine derivative (bromide) containing an isopropyl radical at the quaternized nitrogen atom of a tropane heterocycle.

Synonyms: Atrovent, Atrovent, Itrop, Normosecretol.

It is an anticholinergic drug that acts mainly on the bronchial cholinergic receptors.

Apply ipratropium bromide (atrovent) in the form of an aerosol for the same indications, according to which the domestic preparation "Trententhol" is used (see): for chronic obstructive bronchitis and other bronchospastic states associated with increased excitability of the vagus nerve.

Action after inhalation occurs in 3 - 5 minutes and lasts 5 - 6 hours.

Assign 2 breaths (2 times 20 μg each) 3 - 4 times a day; If necessary, 2 to 3 breaths.

The method of use is the same as when using the aerosol "Trententhol" (see).

If necessary, you can use the drug in combination with other bronchodilators.

Form release: in aerosol cans with a capacity of 15 ml, containing 300 single doses of the drug. Each single dose, which is released by a single press on the balloon metering valve, corresponds to 20 μg (0.02 mg) of the drug.

A special combined preparation of berodual is available, containing atrovent in combination with adrenostimulating preparation fenoterol (see).
