Description of the medicine: Alprenolol (Alprenolol)

Alprenolol. 1- (ortho-Allylphenoxy) -3- (isopropylamino) -2-propanol hydrochloride.

Synonyms: Aptin, Alfeprol, Alpheprol, Alpresol, Arrobal, Artin, Artol, Vetasard, Bertarine, Sorbetan, Dimacor, Sinalol and others.

The structure is close to oxprenolol.

Is an indiscriminate b-adrenoblocker. Has moderate internal sympathomimetic activity. Relatively little affects the heart rate.

Indications for use in cardiac practice are the same as for anaprilin and oxprenolol.

Assign the inside in the form of tablets of 50 mg, starting from 2 to 4 tablets per day, then, if necessary, increase the dose to 200-400 mg (4 to 8 tablets) per day (in 2 divided doses - in the morning and in the evening). When combined with other antihypertensive drugs (in the treatment of hypertension) appoint 50 mg (1 tablet) in the morning and evening.

Possible side effects, precautions and contraindications are the same as with the use of other non-selective b-adrenoblockers (see Anaprilin).
