Used as an astringent for acute and chronic bowel diseases (diarrhea). Tanalbin and other astringents be applied in infectious intestinal diseases (including dysentery origin) only as aids in addition to specific treatments.

Adults appoint 0.3 - 0.5 - 1 g reception 3 - 4 times per day, children - 0.1 - 0.5 g depending on age. Often combined with bismuth, benzonaftolom, phenyl salicylate.
