Description of the medicine: Collagenase (Collagenasum)

COLLAGENASE (Collagenasum).

Enzyme preparation, obtained from the pancreas of slaughter cattle.

White or white with a yellowish shade of porous mass.

Easily soluble in water and isotonic sodium chloride solution. Solutions are stored at temperatures from 0 to +8'C for not more than a day; When heated, it is inactivated. The activity of the drug is expressed in units of action (ED). In 1 g of the drug should contain at least 500 units.

Collagenase has proteolytic activity; Influencing predominantly on collagen fibers, promotes the melting of stems and necrotic tissues.

Apply to accelerate the rejection of scabs and necrotic tissues after burns and frostbites; With trophic ulcers for purification from purulent-necrotic raids.

Assign topically. The solution is prepared immediately before use, adding sterile isotonic sodium chloride solution or novocaine solution to the bottle with the preparation. The solution is moistened with gauze wipes. On the affected surface, over a napkin moistened with a solution, an oilcloth or wax paper and a bandage are applied. Dressings are done after 1 to 2 days.
