Fracture of anus

Fracture of the anus is a longitudinal slit-like ulcer of the mucosa of the anal canal, often located on the posterior wall of the anal canal.

Etiology. Disruptions of the mucous membrane of the anal canal during defecation in patients suffering from constipation and various forms of colitis. The pain leads to a spasm of the internal sphincter, disrupting the trophic tissue in the area of the crack, causing repeated traumatization in acts of defecation and preventing healing. As a result, the fracture turns into a chronic, not prone to healing due to the osmosis of its edges.

Symptoms, course. Constant burning pain in the anus, worsening during defecation and sitting; Allocation of drops of scarlet blood.

The diagnosis is made on the basis of characteristic complaints, visual and palpatory detection of a crack when dilating the margins of the anus. It is necessary to differentiate with a tumor, sexually transmitted diseases and incomplete internal fistula of the rectum.

Treatment in the early stages of the conservative: peace, a relaxing diet, suppositories with analgesics and antispastic agents, mild laxatives and counter enemas, warm sessile baths. After 1.5-2 months, the untreated fissure becomes chronic and is subject to surgical treatment.

The prognosis is favorable with timely and persistent treatment.
