14. Installation and operation of the RCD in the electrical
14.1. RCD INSTALLATION
Installation of RCDs must only be carried out by qualified personnel who have a license to perform electrical work.
It is recommended before putting the power plant into operation RCD to conduct measurements "background" residual current while or series connection of all power consumers.
Methods of determining the value of residual operating current - RCD threshold, measurement of leakage current in the protection zone RCD identifying defective circuits and power consumers in the installation, refer to Appendix 4 .
RCD performance in the electrical part of the building is carried out using a special test instrument, such as the type of TEST * ASTRO developed JSC "ASTRO-UST" ( see. Appendix 5 ).
Currently, in our country it is in operation as the old power plant with a TN-C grounding system and new, with TN-CS earthing system.
When installing the RCD is necessary to carry out a careful investigation of the grounding system in a particular electrical installation and perform a clear separation of the neutral and the protective conductor in the end zone RCD.
The proper functioning of the RCD is necessary that the RCD protection zone neutral conductor did not have contact with grounded electrical installation elements.
