Homeland: Tropics and subtropics of Africa, Asia and Southern Europe

Naiads have two positive qualities: they are very beautiful, and their grassy bushes can be an excellent material for a variety of compositions. In addition, they are an excellent substrate for caviar when spawning many species of fish. Plant them with cuttings taken from stems, which easily break. Rigid stems of these plants can reach a height of about 50 cm. Most naiads prefer soft water. Lighting should be bright, but not excessive. Other species of naiads intended for the aquarium are N. kingii and N. guadalupensis (the latter is sometimes called N. microdon ) .
