Homeland: The southern states of America and the border areas of Mexico

This species develops best if its content is close to natural conditions, which means: low water level and a lot of light. Water should be soft and slightly acidic. In principle, this plant can swim in the water column, but it is better to provide it with a certain place in the aquarium soil, that is, attach it to the substrate. Since it absorbs nutrients not from the soil, but only from water, it is recommended that water be regularly replaced or supplemented with appropriate preparations. The water banana forms lateral shoots, from which new plants are subsequently formed. When they are sufficiently developed, they can be separated from the mother.
