Real gourami (Osphronemidae)

Gurami present (Osphronemus goramy) in their native places - commercial fish. It grows to 60-70 cm and lives in canals, rivers and ponds. Since this fish is quite edible , it was settled in different reservoirs, but at first it was found only on the islands of Sumatra, Borneo and Java; Now it is found in many areas of Southeast Asia. These gurus can live in ordinary domestic tanks of large sizes, only while very young. But most often they can be seen in large-capacity demonstration tanks, allowing them to contain at any age. Gurami are serious eaters, they gladly devour both meat and vegetarian food and grow at an appropriate rate. Therefore, digestive waste enters the aquarium in large quantities. So , we need a high-quality filtration, and besides, the filter itself needs to be cleaned more often. Cases of reproduction in aquariums of ordinary size (up to 120 or 150 cm in length) are unknown , but in general these fish already reach a length of 12-15 cm reaching puberty and are capable of procreation. It is very likely that they arrange frothy nests in shallow water.
