Rules of the game. Sjavs is a popular card game in the Faroe Islands. The Faroese-English dictionary explains Sjavs as "the Danish game". Four players play it for two players. Each pair of players is considered a partner. Partners sit at the table opposite each other so that on the left and right hand of each player sat his rivals. Play a deck of 32 cards, where there are 6 permanent trump cards, their ranking from the high card to the lowest card: ♣ D, ♠ D, ♣ B, ♠ B, B, B. In addition to them there may be a trump card, cards Which are considered to be younger than permanent trump cards. The cost of cards in points: an ace - 11 points, a king - 4 points, a lady - 3 points, a jack - 2 points, 10 - 10 points. Thus, there are 120 points in the deck. The first deliverer is determined by the draw, in the following games the players dealt cards in turn clockwise. The deck is carefully shuffled and the sender proposes to the player to the left of it to remove the deck, if the player withdraws, the sender to each player distributes 8 cards at a time, if the player does not remove the deck from the left (refuses to withdraw), then each player is dealt 8 cards in packages of 4 cards At a time. Next, players begin to choose a trump suit. First, the player to the left of the handler, if he has 5 or more cards of the same suit, declares this suit as a trump card and declares the number of cards in that suit, if there are not so many cards of the same suit, the player says "pass" and skips the announcement trump Suit. Then the same is done by each player clockwise and declaring a trump suit, he is entitled only if the number of his cards of the same suit is equal to or greater than the number of cards of the same suit already declared by the last announced player. If during the announcement of a trump suit all players said "pass", the sender collects all the cards, re-shuffles them and distributes them to the players. If there are two players with an equal number of cards of the same suit, then the clubs are the clubs. When the trump card has been determined, players begin to draw cards. The first move belongs to the player to the left of the handler. The player can enter from any of his cards and every next player clockwise must put a card of the same suit, if there is no card of that color, then put any card. After each player places one card, the players begin to determine the winner of the laid cards (bribes). A bribe is won by the player who will put the highest card in the suit of the first move, or who will put a trump card, or who will put the most senior trump card if there are several trump cards. The player who wins a bribe gets the first move right in the next trick. Thus, all cards are played. After that, the scoring between the players begins. Partners count the points together. First, players count points for cards taken in bribes, and then points are awarded for a certain number of bribes or points.

If both pairs of partners scored an equal number of points of 60, then in this game they do not score points, and according to the results of the next game their points are doubled. Calculation of the results of the game is as follows.

In the above table, the results of the game are entered as follows. Before the first game each team has 24 points. After the first game was played, the partners scoring the number of points deducted from the 24's will be the result in scores for the first game played. Further, when the players play the second game, then they deduct the scores from the remaining points after the first game played. For example, there were 24 points before the first game, the result of the first game is 12 points, 24-12 = 12 points for the partners before the second game. Having played the second game and got 8 more points, players get the points before the third game that is 12-8 = 4 points. Thus, a team of partners who first get 0 points or cross this line in a negative direction becomes the winner.
Note. There are varieties of this game. For example, if both pairs of players gain an equal number of points of 60, then the results of the next game, the partners multiply the scores by 4, and then subtract them from the values of the final table of results. A game of threesome is possible, then each player is dealt 10 cards and 2 cards are put in the closed table in the center of the table and they can be exchanged for any of their two cards by the player who will announce the final trump card. The table of results is recorded for three players, where each player plays for himself.
