The history of solitaire games

Patience is a French word, which in literal translation means patience, that is exactly what is necessary for a person who decided to spend his free time for playing solitaire. Solitaire is a kind of card game originating from simple divination. But over time, the solitaire has become a kind of game, the essence of which is to move, replace and combine the random arrangement of playing cards.

Solitaire first appeared in France in the XVII century during the reign of Louis XIII. Fundamentals of unfolding solitaire games were laid by prisoners who languished in those days in prisons of royal France. The cards helped them to pass long hours of imprisonment. That is why many solitaire games contain in their name the imprint of some famous personality or politician of that era. From dungeons and prisons, solitaire gradually migrated to the royal palaces, and already courtiers, and the august people themselves became ardent admirers of this game.
So, let's sum up, so what is solitaire. Solitaire is the unfolding of cards according to certain, previously known rules for obtaining a given final result. Depending on the type of solitaire, the rules and the final goal change. Today, the number of solitaire games is estimated at seven or eight hundred. About three hundred solitaire games were passed on to us from generation to generation. All the other solitaires were invented by the authors of computer programs to unfold solitaire games, in order to attract people to unfold solitaire games. There are very simple, which are decomposed within two minutes and, as a rule, always converge. But there are some that can be solved for hours, but never achieve a solution. Solitaires vary in essence. In some, for example, it all depends on the successful location of cards, in others everything is decided by patience, assiduity and combinatorial abilities of the player.
