The Magic Sword

In order to perform this trick you will need a magic sword. The basis of this sword is a regular rapier. The rapier cuts the end by 5 mm. Across the bent side of this apex and across the blade, which is truncated, small transverse copper plates are fixed. Each plate is bent in the middle in such a way that, together with the concavity of the blade, an opening is formed, which is necessary for the free movement of a thin elastic cord. The other end of the cord passes into the same small cavity at the handle of the rapier. This lace is located on the concave surface of the blade and passes through the holes described, and is fixed with a knot at each end. If you pull the string, you will bring the movable tip to the normal position on the end of the blade. This tip can be moved in any direction, it all depends on the elasticity of the lace. If the cord is lowered, it will again take its normal position. On the side of the handle, which is the most distant from the hand, when the sword is taken in hand, a flat, oblong plate of dark color with slightly curved edges is attached, so that a card can be placed in it. Such a sword is used in the focus, in which the deck is thrown up and the map chosen by the viewer is caught by a magician's hand.
Now we describe the focus itself. Take an ordinary deck and give any of the viewers a choice of one card. When the card is selected and returned to the deck, you use the volt method, and transfer it to the top of the deck. Now it is not difficult for you to hide the card in the palm of your hand. Then you throw the deck with the cards up and catch the card you hid in your hand. Viewers from the outside seem that you are really catching this card among the abandoned cards. If there is a part of the audience that can suspect that something is wrong and say that you were hiding a card in your hand, then you are using a magic sword. First you say: "It seems to you that the card was in my hand, well I will prove to you that you are mistaken." You give the deck to another spectator for choosing a card. The viewer selects the card, then ask him to shuffle the deck. Then say, "Now I hope that you do not say that the card is in my hand, wait a bit while I take my sword." Next, you go behind the screen and take the sword. When you get back, stand in the fencing pose and tell the spectator who has the cards: "I'll say: one, two, three. And with the word three, throw the cards up, and I'll catch the map you selected on the edge of the sword, A fan so that I can see them. " After the cards have been thrown, you become under cards and one card is on your spearhead.
The technique of performing the focus is as follows. At the very beginning of the focus, you say that you give viewers to choose any card in the deck. In fact, you bring up cards that were hidden in your palm to the top of the cards you took from the deck, the moment you cover the cards taken with your right hand. Then you give the viewer to choose a card and without waiting for the card to return, you come to the table, holding the remaining cards in your left hand. You keep a deck of cards in your right hand and put cards from your left hand down the deck, then make a volt. Thanks to this, the necessary cards will be on top, and now you can hide them in the palm of your right hand and put it in your pocket. Then you give the deck to the viewer with the card and ask the viewer to put the card in the deck. Then ask the viewer to shuffle the deck, at the same time you follow the sword. Take the sword in the right hand, pull the punctured card and place it in the handle socket. Returning to the audience, ask the viewer to throw the cards up and make an attack with the sword and release the card hidden in the sword. As a result, it will be on the edge of the sword. To divert the attention of viewers from the cards that have fallen to the floor, since there is the same map as the edge of the sword, you remove the card from the sword and give it to the viewer.
