Icon maps (4 types)

In principle, the concept of "icon maps" falls under the notion of " crimped maps ", the idea and implementation is similar. On the deck of the cards of the deck information is put, which conveys the meaning of the card. But there are various subtleties, which are described in this section, which distinguish badges from bad cards. There are 4 most common types of icon maps. Let's consider them separately.

The first type (denoted by two dots) . In this kind of cards, information about the value and suit of the card is indicated by two points. The first point denotes the suit, the second point denotes the value of the card. The first point is located along the short side of the card from the side of the shirt. The visually short side of the map is divided into 4 parts: the first part - the peak, the second - the clubs, the third - the diamonds, the fourth - the hearts.

Peak

Clubs

Tambourine

Earthworm

In order to determine the value of the card, a dot is placed according to the following scheme. Consider the example of 32 cards. First, a landmark is defined, where points will be placed to determine the value of the map. Take for simplicity the center of the card shirt. And around this center there is one of the points, which will denote the value of the map.

lady

ace

Thus, we get the following maps by the location of the points.

ace

hearts

Queen of clubs

The second type (designation by one point). Here, the suit and the value of the card are denoted by a single point. This designation is similar to the use of shorthand methods, since using only one point, you can designate any number of cards in the deck. Imagine a map crash that is made up of dots or other images that are arranged symmetrically, for example, in the picture below.

The first big point, if you count in the vertical first row on the left side the suit of the heart, the second point denotes the suit of the tambourine, the third denotes the suit of the club, the fourth denotes the suit of the peak. If to add one small point to one of these points, which are in the card's card itself, then it will denote the value of the map. This point should be in one of the positions, for example, as indicated in the figure, which is below.

If the point is directly above, then it means an ace, if it is slightly to the right, then the king, even more to the right means the lady, the fourth point in this direction denotes the jack, so to the seven. Therefore it is clear that, for example, to designate the eight of clubs, it is necessary to take the third point in the first figure and put near it on a known place still a small point. Thus, during the game it is not difficult to read the opponent's cards.

The third type (sign designation) . Here, combinations of points, commas, corners, rulers and other various figures are used to denote the colors and values of maps. For this purpose, for example, in the center of the card's shirt, a mark-label is applied with a colorless liquid, which after drying leaves a barely noticeable yellowish spot. As this liquid can be tap water, colorless varnish, etc. There are also light inks. To indicate the suit, you can use semicolons, for example: peaks - put a period (.), Clubs - put two points (..), a tambourine - a comma (,), a worm - two commas (,,). The following symbols can be used to denote the meaning of maps: 10 - a vertical line (|), 9 - a slash to the right (/), 8 - a slash to the left (\), 7 - a hyphen or a dash (-) and so on.
This method of identification is the fastest to identify cards, but the most noticeable.
The most common system for denoting signs is the following system: ace-point; The king is two points; The lady is a comma; Jack - two commas; 10 - angle with a high vertical bar; 9 - angle with a long horizontal bar; 8 is an equilateral angle; 7 - dash; Worm - Rectangle; Tambourine - a rectangle with a point inside; Trefa - triangle; Peak - the sign of the mathematical square root.

The fourth kind . In 1949, one of the bailiffs in the Senes Chamber, commissioned to examine 150 decks of cards, which were confiscated from one suspicious person. The shirt of these cards was completely white and this fact prompted us to explore these maps. Within two weeks, experts examined these cards with a magnifying glass and special chemical reagents and could not find anything. And then, by chance, a person who came to this specialist took a map from a distance and noticed a matte dot on the card's shirt in one of its corners, which had never caught the eye of a specialist before. This man brought the map closer to his eyes and noticed that the point had disappeared. When the map was moved back to the distance, the point reappeared. As it turned out, such a point was present on all maps. The position of this point determined the suit and magnitude of the map. And this is how it was done.
Imagine a card that has been divided into 8 parts in a vertical direction and 4 pieces in a horizontal direction, as indicated in the figure below.

Some divisions meant card values, others meant suit. The point was at the intersection of these divisions. Thus, a little by practicing with such a deck you can always win.
