How to please a hardworking Vegan-Bull, a symbol of this year? Of course, an abundance of fresh greens and vegetable salads on the festive table. The element of the year is Earth, and therefore, in special honor will be earthly gifts. And if you make vegetable edible jewelry yourself - The ox-esthete will be exactly pleased. These chrysanthemums and roses are cut from Chinese and red cabbage with very simple tools. They will make the festive table absolutely unique!

1. Take the middle head of Chinese (Peking) cabbage.

2. Cut the upper loose part.

3. Traditionally carving on vegetables (carving) is performed using special knives of various shapes. For example, such chrysanthemums are carved with a carving knife in the form of a groove. But I adapted a simple tool, a lid from a can of olives, which should be bent in half to make an oval groove. The edges of the groove are not too sharp, but we must not forget about caution. First it is necessary to adjust to keep it as comfortable as possible, without touching the edges.

4. Take the groove in this way and cut long grooves along the hard part of the head. At first the groove should not go very deep. Closer to the ground, you must direct it deeper inside.

5. It is necessary to stop, not reaching approximately 2 cm to the end of the leaf. Take out the groove and cut the petal next to it. First, 3-5 petals are placed on one sheet.

6. Raise the finished petals and gently cut the remaining pieces of the sheet with small scissors, if they did not separate themselves during the cutting of the petals.

7. Take out the rest of the sheet.

8. Continue to perform the same operations. Hold the finished petals, choose the outermost (from the remaining) sheet, cut the petals with a groove. The petals will get shorter.

9. Cut the petals as long as possible. The middle can be cut and straightened. Here such a flower is obtained in 15-20 minutes of work (each following - all faster and easier). Now the flower should be put for half an hour in very cold water, or, better, in water with ice. The flower will open up more and the petals will bend more. Such chrysanthemums can be made in advance, they are perfectly stored in containers with water for more than two days.

10. Rosettes can be made from red cabbage. We need the uppermost largest sheets and the uppermost, thinner, slightly podvyavshy edge. Cut and carefully take off the whole sheet.

11. Cut the edge of the leaf.

12. Cut out the petals with scissors. On a large sheet they will be more. If the leaves are small, you can take two.

13. Cut off the tip of a thick cucumber and remove all the flesh.

14. Scissor the teeth along the edges.

15. Fold the cabbage petals in the tube, insert into the cucumber cup and spread the petals.

16. But do not put roses in the water. Cabbage leaf swells and unwinds. You can try to twist roses from a strip of green cabbage, from a curled ribbon, thinly cut with carrots or with a tomato. To put roses on the stem, take a piece of a strong vegetable, as a basis (radish, cabbage). Stick it a wooden stick (skewer) of the right length, put a bow on it, and then - the rose itself.

17. Leaves are very easy to cut out leeks and apple peels with small scissors. The cutting technique is the same as that of paper. With it, children cope with pleasure!
