Small lumbar muscle , m. Psoas minor, thin, fusiform, situated on the anterior surface of m. Psoas major. It starts from the lateral surface of the bodies of the XII thoracic and I lumbar vertebrae, and, going down, passes its tendon into the iliac fascia, attaching together with it to the crest of the pubic bone and iliac-pubic elevation.

Function: pulls the iliac fascia.
Innervation: rr. Musculares plexus lumbalis (LI-LII).
Blood supply: aa. Lumbales.
