Bony sky

Bony skies , palatum osseum, is the bottom of the nasal cavity and the roof of the mouth.

Bony sky
The anterior two-thirds of the bone skull is formed by the palatine processes of the upper jaws , the posterior third by the horizontal plates of the palatine bones and their pyramidal processes.

Front and sides of the skull are limited to the alveolar processes of the upper jaws. In the middle of the skeletal palate in the sagittal, the median palatine suture passes, the sutura palatina mediana, in which both palatine processes of the upper jaws and both horizontal plates of the palatine bones are connected. Along the middle seam is often located the palatal shaft, torus palatinus. The posterior sections of this suture cross the transverse palatine suture in the frontal direction, sutura palatina transversa, the junction of the palatine processes of the upper jaws with the horizontal plates of the palatine bones. At the anterior end of the median palatine seam, behind the alveoli of the incisors, lies the incisal fossa, fossa incisiva. At the bottom of the fossa there is an incisal hole, foramen incisivus (through which the nerves and blood vessels pass) leading to the incisal canal, canalis incisivus. The canal is opened on the upper, nasal, hard surface of the hard palate by two apertures, each of which is located on the sides of the nasal crest. On both sides of the incisive hole on the skull of children, and sometimes adults, the incisal incisiva is incisively expressed, sutura incisiva, connecting the inconstant cutaneous bone, os incisivum, with the palatine process of the upper jaw.

In the posterior sections of the skeletal palate there is one large palatine foramen, foramen palatinum majus, posterior to which there are 1-2 small palatine foramina, foramina palatina minora. On both sides of the skeletal palate, anterior to the large palatine foramen, two palatal fissures pass. Sulci palatini, - imprint of blood vessels and nerves.
