Diabetes mellitus is the most common endocrine disorder among all metabolic disorders. This term combines various forms of glucose metabolism disorders with different etiology and symptoms (perhaps there is a genetic predisposition or heredity inherent in certain genes). A common sign of all forms of diabetes is a relative or complete flaw of insulin.

With clinically expressed diabetes, the essence of sugar in the blood exceeds 6.7 mmol / l (> 120 mg%). There are early and late symptoms of diabetes. Early symptoms include hyperglycemia, glucosuria, polydipsia, polyuria, adynamia, pruritus, eczema, and the like. Late symptoms include diabetic gangrene, diabetic glomerulosclerosis, diabetic retinopathy, and the like.

From the point of view of Reckeweg's teaching about homotoxins, diabetes mellitus is an organodermal degeneration phase in which significant toxic overloads have resulted in the death of insulin producing cells. These toxic overloads are based on the so-called retoxic impregnations arising from the inhibition of detoxification mechanisms (for example, in the treatment of common infections, sore throats, etc. with potent allopathic drugs).
When treating diabetes, it is necessary to take into account that the occurrence of inflammatory processes can give an indication of activation of detoxification mechanisms. Inflammation can not be suppressed, but it is necessary to maintain biological preparations that activate immunity. It is recommended for juvenile diabetes, along with therapy with biological drugs, to carry out substitution therapy with insulin. (Of course, this applies to older patients who became ill with diabetes in their youth).
In addition, prolonged therapy with Syzygium compositum is indicated ; Dosage - 3 times a day for 8-10 drops. It contributes to the improvement and stabilization of metabolic processes.

With a tendency to arteriosclerosis, which is observed almost in all forms of diabetes, Aesculus compositum , Galium-Heel , Cralonin (drops), Melilotus-Homaccord N (drops), Leptandra compositum (for diseases of the liver and pancreas), Aurumheel N ( drops).

Only with more severe forms of infections and inflammations (for example, diabetic furunculosis) antibiotics can be prescribed, since from the point of view of Reckeweg's teaching about homotoxins they prevent deterioration of the condition and the transition of diabetes to diabetic coma (for more details, see Fig. 3 in the appendix "Main characteristics Febrile reactive phases in general pathogenesis and antihomotoxic therapy ").

Biological therapy of these manifestations of the disease can lead to an improvement in the course of diabetes itself. For this, various drugs are used, for example, Gripp-Heel (tablets, ampoules), Engystol N (ampoules), Arnica-Heel (droplets), Belladonna-Homaccord (drops), Mercurius-Heel S (tablets), Echinacea compositum S (ampoules ) etc.
