An asret of the anus, rectum

A developmental disorder in which the anus is not present. Often combined with atresia of the rectum.
By the end of the first day of life a picture of intestinal obstruction in the lower part of the intestine develops. The chair is absent, the abdomen is swollen, the child is restless, over the course of time its condition worsens, vomiting, possibly complication - rupture of the intestinal wall (perforation) and, as a consequence, inflammation of the peritoneum - peritonitis.
Atresia of the rectum is often accompanied by the development of fistula - the passage through which the feces come out. In girls, fistulas are most often opened on the eve of the vagina, in boys - in the urethra and perineum.
Only surgical. With fistulas opening into the vagina, the operation is performed at the age of 2 months. Up to 1 year.
